DIY Double-Loop Leather Bracelet

After having Instagrammed this DIY preview, I couldn’t keep you guessing for too long. I’m finally back on track with accessories, this time with a double-loop leather bracelet. Maybe the steps take a little bit of effort, but the final result is worthwhile. Don’t you think?

Double_Loop_Leather_Bracelet

You’ll need:

  • Press Knife;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Cutter;
  • Buckle;
  • Male-female screw;
  • Leather;
  • Chain.

The steps:

  1. Cut a first strip of leather and pierce it with the press knife in order to obtain a slot for the prong of the buckle.
  2. Insert the leather into the frame of the buckle and the prong into the hole.
  3. Fold the strip of leather and pierce the two layers. You’ll need these two holes for screwing up.
  4. Shorten the strip of leather (about 1/3 of the total length of the bracelet).
  5. Cut a small strip of leather that will be used for the loop.
  6. Loop it and secure the strip with a couple of staples.
  7. Insert the loop into the strip and fasten it with the male-female screw.
  8. If needed, shape the other end of the leather strip so that it fits in the link.
  9. Pierce the two layers with the press knife in the same way as we did previously.
  10. Fasten the leather strip to the chain link with another male-female screw.
  11. Cut another strip of leather of about 1/3 of the length of the bracelet and repeat steps n° 8, 9 and 10.
  12. Help yourself with a drill template (do you remember the one used here?) and mark the holes.
  13. Pierce the leather with the press knife.

Dopo avervelo anticipato su Instagram, non potevo tenervi sulle spine troppo a lungo. Con il primo DIY dell’anno sono tornata a creare accessori: un bracciale double-loop in pelle e catena. Il procedimento forse è un po’ lunghetto e laborioso, ma che ne pensate? Non ne vale la pena?

Occorrente:

  • Pinza a fustella;
  • Cacciavite;
  • Taglierino;
  • Fibbia;
  • 3 Viti maschio-femmina;
  • Pelle;
  • Catena.

Procedimento:

  1. Tagliate una prima striscia di pelle e foratela con la pinza a fustella per creare l’alloggiamento dell’ardiglione della fibbia.
  2. Fate passare la pelle nella cornice della fibbia ed inserite l’ardiglione nel foro.
  3. Ripiegate la striscia di pelle e praticate due fori allineati che serviranno per il fissaggio con la vite.
  4. Accorciate la striscia di pelle (poco più di un terzo della lunghezza complessiva del bracciale).
  5. Tagliate una piccola striscia di pelle che servirà per il passante.
  6. Chiudetela ad anello e fissatela con un paio di punti di spillatrice.
  7. Inserite il passante e bloccate con una vite maschio-femmina.
  8. Se necessario, sagomate l’altra estremità della striscia di pelle affinché passi nella maglia della catena.
  9. Così come abbiamo fatto per la fibbia, praticate due fori con la pinza a fustella.
  10. Bloccate la striscia di pelle alla catena con un’altra vite maschio-femmina.
  11. Tagliate un’altra striscia di pelle di poco più di un terzo della lunghezza del bracciale e ripetete i passi 8, 9 e 10 per una delle sue estremità.
  12. Aiutandovi con una dima (ve la ricordate quella usata qui?), segnate gli occhielli.
  13. Forate con la pinza.

Il braccialetto è pronto! Allora non avevo ragione?

Après avoir Instagrammé l’anticipation de ce projet DIY, je ne pouvais pas vous tenir en haleine trop longtemps. Avec ce premier DIY de l’année, je suis retournée à créer des bijoux, cette fois un bracelet en cuir et chaîne double tour. Les étapes sont peut-être un peu longues et laborieuses, mais qu’en pensez-vous ? Ne vaut-il pas la peine ?

Vous avez besoin de:

  • Emporte pièce;
  • Tournevis;
  • Cutter;
  • Boucle;
  • 3 boulons masculin-femelle;
  • Cuir;
  • Chaîne.

Les étapes:

  1. Coupez une première bande de cuir et perforez-la avec l’emporte pièce afin d’obtenir un trou pour l’ardillon de la boucle.
  2. Insérez le cuir dans la boucle et l’ardillon dans le trou.
  3. Pliez la bande de cuir et perforez les deux couches. Vous aurez besoin de ces deux trous pour le vissage.
  4. Raccourcissez la bande de cuir (environ 1/3 de la longueur totale du bracelet).
  5. Coupez une petite bande de cuir qui sera utilisée pour le passant.
  6. Agrafez-la.
  7. Insérez le passant et bloquez-le avec un boulon masculin-femelle.
  8. Si nécessaire, modelez l’autre extrémité de la bande de cuir afin qu’elle s’adapte dans le maillon de la chaîne.
  9. Perforez les deux couches avec l’emporte pièce de la même manière que nous avons fait précédemment.
  10. Fixez la bande de cuir au maillon avec un autre boulon masculin-femelle.
  11. Coupez l’autre bande de cuir (environ 1/3 de la longueur du bracelet) et répétez les étapes n° 8, 9 et 10.
  12. Avec un gabarit de perçage (vous vous souvenez de celui utilisé ici?) marquez les trous.
  13. Percez le cuir avec l’emporte pièce.

Le bracelet est terminé. Est-ce que j’avais raison ou pas?
