DIY Tartan Scarf

I must admit that I’m quite obsessed with anything checkered. Especially with plaid shirts. I think I’ll never have enough. That said, I’ve had a big crush on tartan scarves, too. So, I’ve immediately started to look for one, but strangely it seems quite impossible to. No tartan scarves at all. Or, if you finally manage to find one, you don’t really like the fabric. The solution to this is certainly a DIY. I’ve bought the fabric I liked and I made it myself. Follow the steps!

DIY_Tartan_Scarf

You’ll need:

  • Tartan fabric/plaid;
  • Cotton;
  • Scissors;
  • Sewing machine;

How-to:

  1. Start by cutting down your fabric to a size you like. Or, if you wish, by cutting your plaid into a smaller size. Stitch along the four edges. For the longer edges, leave a 1 cm border; for the longer ones, leave 10 cm.
  2. Fray the longer borders.
  3. Trim the excess.
  4. Fray the other edges.
  5. Trim the excess.

Devo ammettere che adoro tutto ciò che è a scacchi. Camicie in particolare. Ormai ho iniziato a collezionarle. Ultimamente, però, la mia attenzione si è spostata anche verso le sciarpe ma, difficile a credersi, è praticamente impossibile trovare una. O, quando finalmente credi di averla scovata, la scarti subito per il tessuto o per la fantasia non proprio perfette. Allora, chi fa da sé fa per tre: ho comprato la stoffa e l’ho fatta-da-me. È facilissimo!

DIY_Tartan_Scarf

Avete bisogno di:

  • Stoffa tartan/plaid;
  • Cotone;
  • Forbici;
  • Macchina da cucire.

I passaggi:

  1. Innanzitutto tagliate la stoffa (o addirittura un plaid) della misura che preferite. Cucite i quattro lati della stoffa. Sui lati lunghi lasciate un centimetro, mentre sui lati corti lasciatene una decina. Questo servirà per bloccare la trama!
  2. A questo punto, iniziate a sfilacciare i lati lunghi.
  3. Tagliate l’eccesso.
  4. Sfilacciate anche i lati corti (questo procedimento prenderà un po’ più di tempo!).
  5. Tagliate l’eccesso.

Je dois avouer que je suis assez obsédée par tout ce qui est à carreaux. Surtout avec les chemises, au point que j’ai commencée à les collectionner. Cela dit, j’ai eu un gros coup de coeur sur des écharpes en tartan, aussi. Mais étrangement, il semble tout à fait impossible à les trouver. Ou, si vous réussissez finalement à en trouver un, il se passe que vous n’aimez pas le tissu. La solution au problème est un DIY. J’ai acheté le tissu et je l’ai fait moi-même.

DIY_Tartan_Scarf

Vous avez besoin de :

  • Tissu/couverture tartan ;
  • Coton ;
  • Ciseaux ;
  • Machine à coudre.

Les étapes:

  1. Commencez par couper votre tissu à la taille que vous souhaitez. Ou, si vous voulez, en coupant votre plaid dans une taille plus petite. Coudrez les quatre bords. Pour les bords les plus longs, laissez une bordure de 1 cm; pour les plus longs, laissez 10 cm.
  2. Effilez les bords longs.
  3. Coupez l’excédent.
  4. Effilez les autres bords.

  5. Coupez l’excédent.

Votre écharpe tartan est prête!
