You may remember that Chanel’s S/S 13 collection was definitely the triumph of maxi jewelry pieces. Statement pearls/beads necklaces and bracelets were absolutely in the spotlight and styled with black and white dots cardigans, floral dresses, colorful jackets. Did you think they were too much to be worn? Not at all! Each time Karl demonstrates that creativity is more important! I fell in love with the silver beads necklace, but once learned the technique (which is quite similar to the DIY Statement Necklace), I think I’m gonna replicate the pearls one, too! Ready? Let’s start!
You’ll need:
- About 60 small beads (12mm), 15 medium beads (14mm) and 5 big beads (16mm);
- About 80 Headpins;
- Chain;
- Clasp;
- Pliers.
How-To:
- Thread a headpin through a small bead and use the round nose pliers to bend the headpin so that you’ll have a charm. Don’t close it, leave a 2mm space to let it pass through the chain;
- Starting from the centre of the chain, attach the charm to the link wrapping the tail of the headpin to secure it;
- Attach the other small charms to the chain continuing on both sides of the chain. Decide where you want the charms to end;
- Now it’s time for the medium ones. So, repeat these steps trying to attach them on the links you missed;
- Attach now the big beads in the links you think are too empty. In this case, pay attention to the length of the headpin. You may need it to be longer than the other ones!
- If you think there are some empty links, add other charms. The richer, the better!
- The necklace is almost finished. You only need to add the clasp: open a link helping yourself with the pliers, insert the clasp and close it!
Your Chanel maxi beads necklace is finished! Style it and enjoy!!!

Probabilmente ricorderete che la sfilata P/E 13 di Chanel è stata decisamente il trionfo dei maxi gioielli. Collane e bracciali di perle o sfere d’argento sono state il fulcro dell’attenzione, abbinate su cardigan a pois bianchi e neri, vestiti floreali e giacche dai toni vivaci. Pensavate fosse troppo difficile da abbinarle? Affatto! Ancora una volta Karl ci dimostra non c’è fine all’immaginazione. Per il DIY di oggi ho scelto la collana con sfere argento, ma una volta imparata la tecnica (molto simile a quella del DIY Statement Necklace), potrete sicuramente farne altre! Magari quella di perle! Pronti? Si inizia!
Avete bisogno di:
- una 60ina di sfere argento piccole (12mm), una 15 di sfere medie (14mm) e 5 grandi (16mm);
- una 80ina di chiodini;
- catena;
- chiusura;
- pinze.
Procedimento:
- inserite la sfera piccola nel chiodino e piegatelo aiutandovi con le pinze in modo da ottenere un charm. Non chiudetelo del tutto, ma lasciate un paio di mm per farlo passare nella maglia della catena;
- partendo dal centro della catena, infilate il charm nella maglia e chiudetelo avvolgendo la parte restante del chiodino su se stesso (sopra la sfera);
- infilate le altre sfere piccole continuando a destra e a sinistra. Decidete ad un certo punto dove volete che i charms finiscano;
- è arrivato il momento di passare alle sfere medie. Ripetete gli stessi passi e agganciatele alle maglie lasciate vuote;
- infilate le sfere grandi nelle parti troppo vuote. In questo caso fate attenzione a lasciare il chiodino di una lunghezza maggiore degli altri per fare in modo che si muova più liberamente;
- se notate qualche spazio troppo vuoto, aggiungete altri charms. Più è pieno, meglio è!
- la collana è quasi ultimata. Vi manca solo la chiusura, quindi aprite una maglia della catena aiutandovi con le pinze, inserite la chiusura e richiudete.
La vostra collana maxi Chanel è terminata! Non vi resta altro che indossarla!

Probablement vous vous souviendrez que la collection P/E 13 de Chanel était certainement le triomphe de maxi bijoux. Colliers et bracelets de perles étaient absolument au centre de l’attention et ils étaient combinés avec des cardigans à pois noirs et blancs, robes à fleurs et vestes colorées. Pensez-vous qu’ils étaient trop pour être porté? Pas du tout! Je suis tombé en amour avec le collier perles d’argent, mais une fois appris la technique (ce qui est assez similaire au DIY Statement Necklace), je crois que je vais reproduire les perles, aussi! Prêt? Commençons!
Vous aurez besoin de:
- Environ 60 petites perles (12mm), 15 perles moyennes (14mm) et 5 perles de grande taille (16mm);
- Environ 80 clous;
- Chaîne;
- Fermoir;
- Pince.
Les étapes:
- Commencez par enfiler un fermoir à une petite perle et utilisez la pince à bouts ronds pour plier le fermoir de sorte que vous aurez un charme. Ne le fermer pas, mais laissez un espace de 2 mm pour le laisser passer à travers la chaîne;
- A partir du centre de la chaîne, fixez le charme en enveloppant la fin du fermoir pour le fixer;
- Fixez les autres petites charmes à la chaîne en continuant dès deux côtés de la chaîne. Décidez où vous voulez que les charmes finissent.
- Maintenant il est temps pour celles de taille moyenne. Donc, répétez ces étapes en essayant de les fixer aux maillons de la chaîne que vous avez manqués;
- Fixez maintenant les perles grandes dans les maillons qui sont trop vides. Dans ce cas, faites attention à la longueur du fermoir. Vous pourriez avoir besoin d’un fermoir plus long que les autres!
- Si vous pensez que certains parties de la chaine sont trop vides, ajoutez d’autres charmes. Le plus riche, mieux c’est!
- Le collier est presque terminé. Il vous suffit d’ajouter le fermoir: ouvrez un maillon en vous aidant avec la pince, insérez le fermoir et fermez-le!
Votre maxi Chanel collier est fini! Enjoy!
